On Saturday 2nd November we played at Sopwell House for Julia and Jazz. They booked the string duo to play for their wedding ceremony and drinks reception.
I am really starting to love these Autumn weddings – our couples are really thinking outside the box and we LOVE what they are doing with their venue styling!
We were met by a very excited Groom who pointed out the peacock feathers on the back of some of the chairs in the ceremony room. Jazz explained that they had included these peacock feathers as his family is from India. He also pointed out the pattern on the lining of his suit – Peacock feathers!! The Peacock is the National bird of India so it was very fitting!
The ceremony was taking place in the Mountbatten Suite and we began playing for the guests assembling with some light classical music. The couple had asked for us to play music from the Four Seasons so that was part of the mix.
Julia and her Bridal party entered to Pachelbel’s Canon. The whole ceremony was classical music adding a lovely classy atmosphere. Julia’s sister gave a very moving reading/talk about how much the couple were loved by all who know them! It made a refreshing change from the usual wedding readings!
Unusually, the couple had a marriage blessing directly leading on from their civil wedding ceremony. We were joined by a vicar who performed this blessing followed by the couple exiting to La Rejouissiance, Handel!
After the ceremony we moved rooms to the Patricia Alice Suite for the drinks reception and enjoyed a more relaxed repertoire of music including 1000 Years, Chasing Cars, Make you Feel my love, Viva La Vida and One day like this!
As always I took lots of photos to share with you – absolutely stunning! The couple had put a lot of thought into their whole wedding! Congratulations Julia and Jazz – we wish you all the very best for your future life together!
Enjoy the photos:
The wedding cake was by a friend of the couple – I loved the fresh flowers on the top!
One of the Bridesmaid’s bouquets!! Absolutely exquisite!!
The flowers and table centrepieces were designed by Wild Ivy of St Albans – really LOVED their work! It was lovely to bump into them before we started our booking – more often than not we don’t get to see who makes the venues look so stunning!!
