On Saturday 30th April we had the pleasure of playing for the wedding of Kathryn and Nic at one of the best wedding venues in the country – Dodmoor House.
This amazing venue has just won the National Wedding Awards 2016 “Wedding Venue of the Year (Countryside)” Congratulations to each and every member of the team who work so hard to make sure all their couples have the wedding they dream of!
Dodmoor House is an exclusive use venue in the heart of Northamptonshire. We are very proud to be their recommended professional string quartet. From the moment couples book Dodmoor as their wedding venue, they are treated to the most amazing service. All the team members are caring, friendly and professional and attention to detail is second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble and everything is done with a smile!
This wedding has to be one of our favourites so far – we were booked to play for the Kathryn and Nic’s ceremony, drinks reception and also their wedding breakfast (afternoon tea!)
Such a lot of thought and love went into the preparation that I just had to share!
Weather wise the day didn’t start too well! Rain and thunderous looking skies! Luckily Dodmoor House always looks lovely no matter what the weather!
The weather didn’t dampen spirits and the atmosphere was filled with love and excitement as friends and family gathered in the Courtyard Barn. It wasn’t too long before the sun made an appearance and about half an hour before the ceremony was about to start the guests were able to mingle outside on the courtyard.
The Barn was dressed beautifully today – lots of lovely personal touches:
I loved the colour scheme – the flowers, by “Orange Blossom” were beautiful!
We loved Kathryn and Nic’s music choices – all pop, rock and jazz and we enjoyed every moment!
1000 years – Christina Perri
Signing of the register
Unforgettable – Nat King Cole, Feather Theme – from “Forrest Gump” & “She” from “Nottinghill”
Here Comes the Sun
After a very special ceremony the guests were treated to our unique “Jukebox Live” service. This service is great fun for guests – Kathryn and Nic put together a playlist from our trio repertoire and their guests then chose what they wanted to hear next by writing their requests on the Ariella White board.
The wedding breakfast was afternoon tea provided by Touch of Class A really lovely idea and one I have not seen before even having played at over 1000 weddings! We played background music up on the Mezzanine so we had a great view!
Wow is all I can say for how the Catesby Barn was dressed at this wedding! The photos speak for themselves!

I just couldn’t finish this blog without a photo of the lovely Jeffrey! Clearly, she was enjoying the attention and also the sunshine when the weather improved!
Thanks to all the team members who looked after us so well and to George, the wedding co-ordinator for this wedding! George – sometimes I think you must be superwoman!! 😉
And a huge thank you to our lovely couple, Kathryn and Nic, who were an absolute pleasure to work with! We wish you every happiness in your future life together!
