One of our favourite venues is Waddesdon Manor Dairy near Aylesbury. We were booked to play for Rachel and Richard’s wedding ceremony and drinks reception at Waddesdon Manor Dairy.
Waddesdon Manor (of which the Dairy is part) is a National Trust property. As with all National Trust properties Waddesdon Manor is free for members to have a look around!
Brief History: Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild (1839-1898) bought the Waddesdon Estate – originally nothing but farmland – in 1874. He wanted a country retreat built in the style of a Loire châteaux and soon engaged the French architect Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur. The foundation stone was laid in 1877.
The Dairy is a private building on the Waddesdon Estate that can be booked for weddings – it is absolutely gorgeous and we love playing here! It’s also not too far from us so no long drives for us that day!!
Rachel and Richard’s wedding had been meticulously planned and the attention to detail was brilliant! We loved the decor which I have shared here for you! It is stunning! How is this for a ceremony setting?
Rachel (the Bride) designed and put together the couple’s seating plan herself! We have never seen anything like it – it’s brilliant! Each table name was the surname of a family couple with a picture of that couple and the date of their wedding. Genius and totally unique!!
The flowers were STUNNING!!
The wedding breakfast layout and decor was a surprise for the wedding guests so they were not allowed to see it until it before time! What a surprise they must have had!! It was beautiful and the flowers smelt divine!
We had the pleasure of working with Toastmaster, Richard Heywood who we bump into from time to time during wedding season. Always a pleasure to see him and work alongside him.
We hope that you enjoyed the photos! See you next time!!
