On Friday 30th May our string trio was booked to play for Claire and Nick’s wedding ceremony and drinks reception across 2 counties – Buckinghamshire and then Oxfordshire.
A really lovely couple who we have come to know quite well. It has been an absolutely pleasure working with them creating their musical scenery for their big day!
The wedding ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. St Mary’s is a thriving church and dates back to the 13th Century. The building as it is known today was built in the 13th Century but there has been a Church on the site since before the Norman Conquest.
The string trio arrived at the Church an hour before we were due to start playing to set up and liaise with the pianist. She was playing for the hymns and we were asked to play along. The hymns the couple chose were: Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven, Lord Of All Hopefulness and Give Me Joy In My Heart. We had the Church Choir joining in so the volume of singing was fabulous.
As you all know we LOVE working with other wedding suppliers that we know and recommend and today the floral displays were created by Emma Clarke of Signature Flowers, Quainton – another Ice the Cake wedding supplier. Ice the Cake is a network of highly talented suppliers who have all been vetted so clients can be assured they are getting the very best service possible.
What a gorgeous vision of purples and cream – purple is one of my favourite colours so this was extra special for me!! We have worked with Emma many times and her displays are simply beautiful – I can highly recommend her!
After the service we packed up and slipped out to set off for the drinks reception. It was about a 30 minute drive so we headed off straight away to make sure we got there before any of the guests!! (We haven’t been beaten yet!! lol)
We have played at Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel before so it was lovely to be back! It was just as lovely as I remember it and the staff were fabulous from the moment we walked in the door.
The staff were all ready to greet the guests – canapes and drinkies at the ready!
While we waited for the couple and their guests to arrive I took the opportunity to have a peek at the room where the wedding breakfast was set up!! Absolutely gorgeous – LOOK!!
I loved all the attention to detail and I especially LOVED the cake topper!! lol
So that was a little glimpse into the wedding of Claire and Nick! We wish them all the happiness in the world for their future life together! See you next year for a drink on your anniversary guys!! Team Ariella x
