On Saturday 14th June our 1st string trio team travelled to the beautiful Cotswolds to play for Clare and George at The Bay Tree Hotel in Burford. We were booked to provide live wedding music outside in the garden throughout the ceremony and the drinks reception.
Ariella team 2 were playing for Jonathan and Jess at Caswell House which was about 6 miles from Burford! What a huge coincidence to have 2 of our teams so close together on the same day and at almost the same times!! I will blog about our 2nd Cotswolds wedding at another time – watch out for it!!
In Burford there was some doubt as to whether the ceremony was going to be able to take place outside! The weather was dull and the air heavy. About 15 minutes before the ceremony was due to start it began to rain!! Panic!! Unbelievably, with about 5 minutes to go, the rain stopped and the sun started to shine through the clouds!!
The couple had their dream ceremony in the little summer house after all with their guests looking on. Result!!
Today we worked alongside Susie Mackie who, together with her colleague, seamlessly and discretely captured the essence of the day.
This is the little summer house where the ceremony took place.
I really loved the colours and as you can see below the peonies were stunning!
Inside the room was set up for the wedding breakfast – gorgeous!
And a closer look at the tables………….I am not quite sure what the favours with the lighters were but I do like the individuality!!
The Hotel (and our couple) very kindly provided us with refreshments to have during our comfort break! It is always lovely to be remembered when we play for weddings. It can be quite a long day for us by the time we have driven to our venue, set up and hour before, played for the booking and travelled home again, so snacks/sandwiches are always gratefully received!
By the way – the apples weren’t for us!! lol
Today’s wedding cake was a real cheese cake!
And lastly the seating plan……………
Hope you enjoyed a little peek into our Cotswold wedding!
After we finished at the Hotel we did have to have a look around Burford and have a yummy scone with jam and cream at one of the lovely tea rooms!!! It would have been rude not to!!
